What is Bud Geo...?
Bud Geo... is a Non-governmental organization working in a field of youth and geography using modern IT systems to promote geography and all related sciences among students.
Who are we?
We are a group of students mostly coming from the Department of Geoinformatics, Palacky University in Olomouc (www.geoinformatics.upol.cz) willing to share our knowledge with you. We use informal learning methods in order to provide professional services to high schools, universities, companies, municipalities, etc.
What do we do?
This year we are running GeoKacer 2009, 2nd year of successful geocaching competition, which is not just about geocaching, but also about taking pictures, making maps or doing geography quizzes.
Last year we have organized two projects: GeoKacer 2008 (high-school student geocaching competition) and Bud Geo...Vysocina (5 months educational project for high-school students about geography and geographic informational systems (GIS). We have made a DVD with presentations and open-source programmes for GIS.
How can you help/join us?
We are open to all kinds of co-operation! We can help you with your project as well as you can help us. If you want to promote your firm/organization you can provide us support for students from our competitions.
